Mohammed re-signs with Oklahoma City
29 Jun 2011, 6:17 pm

OKLAHOMA CITY â€" Veteran center Nazr Mohammed is staying with the Oklahoma City Thunder, avoiding free agency with the possibility of an NBA lockout this offseason.

General manager Sam Presti announced Wednesday that Oklahoma City had signed Mohammed to an extension, calling him a "valuable part of our organization both on and off the floor."

The Thunder didn't release terms of his new contract.

A 13-year NBA veteran, Mohammed averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 games after being acquired by the Thunder at the trade deadline. He played mostly as a backup behind starter Kendrick Perkins.
