MIAMI — The Miami Heat have acquired Cleveland State guard Norris Cole from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Cole was picked by the Chicago Bulls with the 28th selection in Thursday night's NBA draft, then moved to Minnesota and ultimately Miami. The NBA did not approve the trade until Friday afternoon.

The Heat gave up the rights to Croatian guard Bojan Bogdanovic and a future second-round pick to complete the deal.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Cole was the Horizon League player of the year and defensive player of the year, after averaging 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists as a senior. He helped Cleveland State reach the second round of the 2009 NCAA tournament, scoring 22 points in a first-round upset over Wake Forest - a game played on the Heat's home floor.
