Kyrie Irving introduced by Cavs

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — Kyrie Irving didn't arrive with an entourage, multimillion-dollar shoe contract or proclamations of greatness.

Cleveland's newest No. 1 draft pick was introduced Friday by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who believe the 19-year-old point guard who spent just one injury-shortened season at Duke, can lead them get back to contention. Irving and Texas forward Tristan Thompson, chosen with the No. 4 overall pick by the Cavaliers, were introduced at a news conference attended by area children, season-ticket holders and corporate partners.

The fresh-faced Irving came across cool, composed and confident, some of the attributes that made him the most coveted player in this year's draft.

Irving and Thompson were presented with their jerseys. Irving will wear No. 15 and Thompson No. 13.
